Benefits of a Local Historic District
Benefits of Local Historic District can outweigh the perceived negative aspects
Read MoreWelcome to Beauregard Town. Beauregard Town is one of the oldest neighborhoods in Baton Rouge. It is a community of mixed business and residential use, including a number of museums, government facilities, and restaurants.
The Beauregard Town Civic Association would like to invite you to participate in and enjoy the benefits of membership in the civic association. Members include a diverse cross-section of Beauregard Town property owners and residents, with both business and residential interests well represented. The mission of the civic association is to preserve the historical character of the neighborhood, improve upon various areas including safety and beautification, and represent community interests in future developments (BTCA Bylaws). The Board works closely with the Downtown Development District, the Mayor’s office, and various other offices to accomplish these goals.
Currently, the association is working with the Baton Rouge Police Departments 2nd District and the Downtown Development District to provide extra security for our neighborhood. Two Officers patrol our neighborhood approximately 8 hours per week outside of their regular work hours. They usually patrol in the late evenings and early morning hours when there are fewer officers on duty. The cost for the extra patrol is shared by the Downtown Development District and the Civic Association. The Civic Association's share is made possible through membership to the Civic Association and an added security payment. You will receive a BTCA Security sign to recognize your participation in helping keep our neighborhood a safe place to live and work!
The Association has a community garden, Beauregarden, that provides the neighborhood with gardening space. The garden is located across the United Methodist Church parking lot and includes 3' x 10' garden plots, compost bins and a small orchard. If you are interested in a plot please contact us.
It is our experience that when we join together we have more success in making our voices heard and getting our interests addressed. If you are interested in continuing to make our neighborhood a great place to live, work, and visit, please consider becoming a member of the Beauregard Town Civic Association. Annual membership dues are $40 for residents and $100 for businesses. Business members and contact information can be included on our website.
Be in the know in Beauregard Town, see what's happening, get reminders, and keep up!
