Where is Beaurgard Town?
Beauregard Town is the neighborhood bordered on the East Interstate 110, on the West by the Mississippi River, on the North by North Blvd., and on the South by South Blvd. Residents can be heard referring to “SoGo” as the half of Beauregard town South of Government St. and “NoGo” as the half of the subdivision that is North of Government St.

Many of the buildings and properties in Beauregard town are historically important, or have interesting pasts. We are interested to know and record the stories of as many properties in the neighborhood as possible. If you know some interesting information about a location in our neighborhood, please let us know (email firstname.lastname@example.org).
If you would like to research an address, the Baton Rouge room in the River Center branch of the East Baton Rouge Parish Library has files of old documents about many older properties in the city. This library is part of the downtown Baton Rouge River Center governmental complex at the corner of St. Louis Street and North Boulevard, which incidentally makes it one of the many buildings in Beauregard Town that might be featured here.
It is recommended that you make an appointment with the library’s archivist before going to the library. Call (225) 389-4967.
